Street Angels UK are a group of volunteers who gather together to provide a helping hand to those who are vulnerable and living on the streets, the homeless. They provide them with food, toiletries such as razors, toothbrushes, sachets of items like shaving foam, shower gel, shampoos, hand sanitisers , wet wipes, pocket tissues, heat packs, foil blankets, as well as hot and cold drinks, snacks, and dedicated barbers who provide them with regular haircuts. They also take clothes and shoes, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, rucksacks, blow up pillows and tents are also provided when available. All these items are donated by the general public; Street Angels UK reaches out on Facebook and Instagram and word of mouth, via friends and family and schools. They either collect, or items are dropped off to volunteers across north London, east London and Essex. Donators can also use an Amazon wish list which enables donators to order and items are dispatched directly to Street Angels UK.

Local dentists also donate mini toothpastes when they can. Street Angels UK are holding a fundraiser at Goals Chingford, 3 Morrison Ave, London E4 8SN, on Friday19th July 2019.
Volunteer Anthea Joannou explained, “Goals have kindly donated their pitches and function room to help raise funds to start new outreach groups across the country and provide them with a starter kit of a table, banner, toiletries and starter supplies. Funds will also enable us to buy a solar powered generator so we can run electric and purchase a run for hit water so we no longer have to keep asking Costa Coffee to refill our five thermos every 30 minutes. We hope that we can raise enough funds to buy items for the winter months when more is needed.” Anthea continued, “We will also be holding a raffle at the fundraiser at £5 a strip with lots of items donated by local businesses up for grabs. We are still asking for donations so if your business can contribute towards our raffle with a donation of one of the services you provide, we will in return mention you in our posts and future outreaches.”
Street Angels UK were recently filmed for the BBC1 programme Britain’s Charity Cheats which will be aired on Wednesday 29th May at 9:15am.
