Sunny weather and rising temperatures are expected until Thursday, with dust in the atmosphere from Tuesday and until next weekend, Meteorology Officer, Andreas Chrysanthou told CNA on Monday. He noted that isolated rain and thunderstorms are expected during the weekend.
In regards to dust episodes, he said that dust will be present from Tuesday until the weekend and dust concentrations will be increasing from Thursday onwards.
He noted that the weather will change on Thursday, as the area will gradually begin to be affected by low pressure with medium and high clouds, as well as stronger winds, mainly in coastal areas. Isolated rain is expected on Friday, possibly followed by thunders and winds, mainly in coastal areas. These phenomena will become stronger during the weekend, he added.
As for the temperature, Chrysanthou said that it will rise significantly until Thursday, reaching higher than the season’s average, which ranges between 21 and 22 degrees. On Tuesday, the temperature is expected to rise up to 24 degrees, and up to 26-28 on Wednesday and Thursday. The temperature is expected to drop by 3-4 degrees on Friday, he said.
