Arrivals of tourists reached 276.781 in May 2012 compared to 267.487 in May 2011, recording an increase of 3,5%, on the basis of the results of the Passengers Survey.
The greatest increase was recorded in tourist arrivals from Russia, reaching 31,6% (from 40.772 in May 2011 to 53.671 in May 2012.
Increase from Sweden reached 13,8% (from 14.813 to 16.856) while increase from Germany stood at 3,7% (from 14.445 to 14.985 this year).
On the other hand, a decrease of 5,4% in tourist arrivals was recorded from the United Kingdom (113.289 in May 2012 compared to 119.752 in May 2011) and 4,7% decrease from Greece (11.446 compared to 12.016 last year).
