Tube
We advise people to complete journeys on the Piccadilly line by 13:00 on Wednesday 26 September, and to use alternative routes on Tube, Rail and bus networks throughout the strike.
We don’t expect to resume services until the afternoon of Friday 28 September. Between 15:30 and 22:00 on Friday, we plan to run a frequent Cockfosters-Heathrow shuttle service, and a Rayners Lane-Acton Town shuttle service approximately every 12 minutes.
Customers for the Uxbridge branch should use the Metropolitan line.
The strike will then resume on the evening of Friday 28 September. Please complete your journey by 22:00. There will be no Night Tube service on Friday.
By 07:30 on Saturday 29 September, a normal service will operate between Heathrow and Cockfosters. By 08:30 on Saturday, we expect to run a normal service between Acton Town and Uxbridge.
During the strike, interchange stations along the Piccadilly line will be much busier than usual, particularly Finsbury Park, King’s Cross St Pancras, Green Park and Hammersmith. Other lines are also likely to be busier than usual.
After 22:00 on Wednesday 26 September there will be no Metropolitan line service between Aldgate and Wembley Park due to planned works.
Our Tube walking map shows average walking times between stations in zones 1-3.
Heathrow Airport
Use TfL Rail and Heathrow Express services to/from Paddington station. The TfL Rail service is approximately every 30 minutes and takes 35 minutes.
These services are likely to be busy – buy your ticket in advance to avoid delays. London Underground tickets and Oyster are not valid on Heathrow Express services.
To plan a journey to or from an airport without the Tube, go to our journey planner and deselect the Tube option.
The A4/ M4 motorway route to Heathrow is likely to be busier than usual.
Buses
We will be running extra buses during the strike. Buses are likely to be busy – allow more time for your journey.
For up to date information on bus services follow @TfLBusAlerts on Twitter or check out our central London bus and walking map. You can also download bus maps by area of London.
National Rail
National Rail services will run as normal but may be busier than usual.
We advise Great Northern customers to change at King’s Cross St Pancras, Highbury & Islington, Old Street or Moorgate for central London as Finsbury Park is likely to be extremely busy.
Cycling
During the strike, Santander Cycle Hire hubs will operate as normal.

London Overground, TfL Rail and DLR

Arsenal v Brentford match
There will be no service on the Piccadilly line before and after Arsenal’s Carabao Cup match against Brentford at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday 26 September (starting 19:45).
Pre-match
Allow more time for your journey as the Tube, especially the northbound Victoria line, will be extremely busy. King’s Cross St Pancras station is expected to be extremely busy and this may mean reduced access and/or non-stopping of trains.
Alternatively you can use either National Rail services to Finsbury Park station from King’s Cross, Moorgate, Farringdon, Blackfriars or London Bridge stations or Northern line services to Archway or Angel stations and continue on foot.
You could also walk or use local bus services from King’s Cross St Pancras (approx 2 miles).
If you are travelling from the Richmond, Chiswick and Acton areas you may find it easier and more comfortable to use London Overground services from Richmond, Gunnersbury South Acton or Acton Central directly to Highbury & Islington station.
Post-match
After the match, Finsbury Park Tube station will be exit-only from 21:30. You will be still be able to board National Rail services from Finsbury Park station as normal, although queues are expected.
There will be queues into Highbury & Islington Tube station for Victoria line and London Overground services to prevent overcrowding. Arsenal station will be closed.
You can use Northern line services from either Archway or Angel stations or walk directly to King’s Cross St Pancras station and board Tube, Rail and local bus services.
