A German couple, both 49-years-old, tragically died on Wednesday after being involved in a car accident on the Limassol-Platres motorway.
Police state that a car driven by a 60-year-old man collided head-on with the tourist’s vehicle on the way to Platres. It is believed the driver was overtaking and smashed into the German couples’ car.
The tourists died from the impact of the crash while the 60-year-old sustained light injuries.
Police are now redirecting traffic as the Limassol-Platres road has been closed.
The fatal accident happened a day after a elderly woman also died in a head on collision in Larnaca after taking the wrong turning.
