Two women jailed following Enfield death

Two women have been convicted at the Old Bailey following the death of a woman at an Enfield flat.

Kinse Aidid, 21 (20.07.94) of Denbigh Road, E6 was found guilty on Friday, 8 April of the murder of 27-year-old Hamdi Jiumala.

She was sentenced to life imprisonment, to serve a minimum of 15 years.

Magdalena Agathine, 21 (23.09.94) of no fixed address, was found guilty of manslaughter. She was jailed for nine years.

During the trial, a charge of murder against Walid Ibrahim, 34 (08.09.81) of Church Street, was dismissed.

Hamdi Jiumala (30.09.87) of no fixed address was found dead in a flat at Gainsborough House on Ayley Croft on 17 September 2015.

The court heard that police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 21:20hrs, to reports of a dead woman at the location. Officers attended and Hamdi’s naked body was found in a bedroom. She had suffered multiple injuries.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as blunt force injuries to the head and trunk.

It is believed she was killed some time between 21:30hrs on 16 September 2015 and 08:00hrs the following morning

Hamdi had arrived at the flat on 13 September 2015, along with Aidid and Macdalena. At some point after their arrival they became involved in an argument.

CCTV captured Aidid beating Hamdi outside the flat on the Wednesday evening which was witnessed by neighbours. Both women were then seen returning to the flat. Hamdi had previously called a friend to say she was having trouble with two women in the flat.

Police enquiries revealed that Agathine had made calls to a man. Agathine put the call on loudspeaker so both she and Kinse could be heard. She told him that they had argued with Hamdi and that she and Kinse had beaten the girl ’pretty badly’.

Detective Chief Inspector David Whellams, of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: “Hamdi Jiumala suffered a violent death at the hands of Aidid and Agathine who consistently lied about the events of that night and failed to take responsibility for their actions.

“They lied throughout their interviews and lied to the court in order to distance themselves from the murder.
