UEFA champions league draw

APOEL face a tough Champions League third qualifying round tie against either Norwegian title holders Rosenborg or Norkopping of Sweden.

Thomas Christiansen’s men will play the first leg away should they advance past The New Saints of Wales on Tuesday. The first leg in Wales had ended 0-0.

APOEL had a good record against sides from Scandinavia having eliminated FC Copenhagen, Midtjylland and Aalborg of Denmark as well as Aalesunds of Norway and HJK Helsinki since 2009.

Rosenborg will take a 3-1 lead to Sweden to play Norkopping in the second leg and are the favourites to advance to the next round.

Rosenborg’s last tie against Cypriot opposition was in 2011 when they were eliminated 2-1 on aggregate by AEK Larnaca in the Europa League playoffs.
