The family of a man who died at his home in Potters Bar in October has made an appeal to the public in the hope that someone can provide information to the detectives investigating his death.
Forty-one year old Milton Papadopoulos was found deceased at his home address in Parkfield View on Wednesday, October 22. His death, which is being treated as unexplained, is being investigated by detectives from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.
As part of the investigation, which is called Operation Pinene, detectives are trying to identify the occupant(s) of a van that was seen in the area a couple of days prior to the discovery of Milton’s body as they may be able to assist them with the investigation.
Milton’s family said: “As Christmas fast approaches, Milton’s loss weighs even heavier on all of our hearts. This loss is particularly difficult as we still do not know the exact circumstances surrounding our son’s death.
“We’ve been left devastated by the loss of our beloved son and there’s a huge void in all our lives. We cannot even start to think about getting any sense of closure until we know what happened to our son.”
They continued: “The occupant or occupants of the van may hold vital information that could assist the investigation into Milton’s death and help us to understand what happened to our son. If you were the driver or a passenger, or have any information about who may have been in the van, please come forward.
“Someone out there has information that will assist the police with their investigation. Please either contact them directly or, if you’re not comfortable speaking to them, contact Crimestoppers completely anonymously.”
The vehicle was seen on Monday October 20 and is described as a white Vauxhall Combo van, believed to be a model from between 2002 and 2009. It was displaying registration plates that read T531 RFE, wasn’t displaying a tax disc and was carrying at least one ladder over the driver’s side. It looks similar to the one pictured.
Anyone with any information in relation to Milton’s death or remembers seeing a van similar to the one pictured in the area during the stated time, should contact the Major Crime Unit’s incident room via 01707 355 666.
Alternatively, people can call the non-emergency number 101, quoting Operation Pinene, or call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
