Waltham Abbey: Appeal after serious collision

We are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision in Waltham Abbey.

A pedestrian and a car were involved in the incident at around 10am this morning (Friday 16 April) on Farm Hill Road.

The car failed to stop at the scene and the pedestrian, a man in his 50s, has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

We remain on scene and a road closure is in place at the junction between Farm Hill Road and Howard Close. It is expected to last until this evening and motorists are urged to avoid the area where possible.

Officers are looking to speak to the driver of the car, a grey BMW 3 Series, which was found abandoned a short while later in Valley Close.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened or has dash cam footage is also asked to please contact us.

You can submit a report online or use the ‘Live Chat’ button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm or call 101, quoting incident 309 of 16 April.

Information can also be given to independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111
