Wanted man charged with burglaries in Potters Bar and Boreham Wood

Wanted man charged with burglaries in Hertsmere
Twenty-three-year-old Patrick O’Leary, who was wanted by police, has been arrested and charged with two burglaries and a theft from a motor vehicle in Hertsmere.
Three Audi’s were stolen in Borehamwood, Elstree and Potters Bar.
He is charged with:
A burglary in Bullhead Road in Borehamwood on July 13, 2017 where offenders went into the house and demanded keys from the occupant before stealing a black Audi S5.
A burglary in Brooklands Gardens in Potters Bar on November 22, 2017. An Audi S5 and jewellery were stolen.
Theft from a motor vehicle on June 3, 2017 where a white Audi S3 was stolen from an address in Sullivan Way in Elstree.
O’Leary, of no fixed abode, has been remanded in custody and due at St Albans Crown Court on January 12, 2018.
Hertsmere Detective Inspector Graeme Walsingham said: “No-one wants to be burgled and it seems worse at this time of the year. The frustrating thing from our point of view is that some burglaries could be prevented – not all residents are securely double locking their doors, some are leaving their keys in the door. Offenders are also using residents’ insecure gardening equipment to gain entry into their homes. The other attractive home for a burglar is one where there are no lights on and the bins have been left out, making it look unoccupied. Give your home the ‘lived in’ look and consider investing in security devices so you remember Christmas for all the right reasons.”
