† DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved father, grandfather and husband to Katina
PANAYIS TRANDA (from Agios Ambrosios, Kyrenia)
He passed away on July 1, 2020. Panayis came to London from Cyprus in 1952. He was working at the RITZ hotel when he married Katina Lysandrou from Agios Andronikos, Karpasia. He later went on to work for British Rail at Waterloo Station, for many years.
After which he went on to run his own business called the Cream Dairy Café & Restaurant at the Smithfield Market. When he sold his business, he went to work for London Transport as a bus conductor. Finally, heading towards his retirement he worked as a security officer.
Panayis worked hard all his life and after his retirement he spent his time helping his family and enjoying many pleasant hours in his beloved garden.
He leaves 5 children: George, Alex and daughter-in-law Mary, Maria, Paraskevoula, Stella and son-in-law Niko and twelve grandchildren. He also leaves his sister Maria and brother-in-law George.
The funeral will take place on Tuesday 4th August, at 1.00pm in the church of St Katherine’s, his burial will take place at the New Southgate Cemetery.
Due to the restrictions for Covid-19, the funeral will be strictly limited to the immediate family.
The forty-day memorial service will be held on Sunday 9th August at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Cross and St. Michael, Golders Green Road, London, NW11 8HL.

Μέ μεγάλη θλίψη αναγγέλλουμε το θάνατο του αγαπημένου μας πατέρα, παππού και συζύγου
ΠΑΝΑΓΗ ΤΡΑΝΔΑ (από τον Άγιο Αμβρόσιο Κερύνειας)
Ο οποίος απεβίωσε την 1η Ιουλίου 2020. Ο Παναγής ήρθε στο Λονδίνο το 1952. Εργάστηκε στο γνωστό ξενοδοχείο «RITZ» και στη συνέχεια παντρεύτηκε την Κατίνα Λυσάνδρου από τον Άγιο Ανδρόνικο Καρπασίας. Ακολούθως, εργάστηκε για πολλά χρόνια στα τρένα και στο Waterloo Station. Επίσης, ήταν ιδιοκτήτης του Καφέ-εστιατορίου «Cream Dairy» στο Smithfield Market για αρκετά χρόνια, ενώ εργάστηκε και ως ελεγκτής στα λεωφορεία της London Transport. Εργάστηκε, επίσης, ως αξιωματικός ασφαλείας. Ο Παναγής εργάστηκε σκληρά και μετά τη συνταξιοδότησή του, στάθηκε δίπλα στην οικογένειά του και πέρασε πολλές ευχάριστες ώρες φροντίζοντας τον κήπο του σπιτιού του.
Αφήνει 5 παιδιά: Γιώργο, Άλεξή (νύφη Μαρία), Μαρία, Παρασκευούλα, Στέλλα (γαμπρό Νίκο), δώδεκα έγγόνια, την αδερφή του Maria και τον κουνιάδο του Γιώργο.
Η κηδεία του θα γίνει την Τρίτη 4 Αυγούστου, στη 1.00μμ στην εκκλησία Αγίας Αικατερίνης. Η παρηγοριά και η ταφή θα γίνει στο κοιμητήριο New Southgate. Λόγω των μέτρων για περιορισμό της Covid-19, η κηδεία θα τελεστεί αυστηρά σε στενό οικογενειακό κύκλο.
Το σαρανταήμερο μνημόσυνο θα τελεστεί την Κυριακή, 9 Αυγούστου, στον Καθεδρικό Ναό Τιμίου Σταυρού, Golders Green Road, London, NW11 8HL. Για εισφορές στη μνήμη του Παναγή, μπορείτε να κάνετε δωρεά στην ελληνική εκκλησία της περιοχής σας. Θα μας λείψει πολύ. Αιωνία του η μνήμη.
