† DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT
Pavlos Christophy
(From Leonarisso, Cyprus) It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Pavlos Christophy that passed away on Saturday 6 June 2020 at the age of 76. Pavlos leaves behind his beloved wife Kyriacou, his children Helen, Christos, Katerina and Demetris. He also leaves his grandchildren Zoe, Thisbe, Evander, Aristophanes and Artemis. Pavlos also leaves Androula Lecatsas, his cherished sister, Yorkis Savva, his cousin and close friend since childhood, and Andreas Kouzaris, his cousin and allotment companion. It is impossible to mention all the relatives and friends that were dear to him and vice versa but they know who they are. Pavlos settled in the Islington area from the age of 11, leaving only once to complete National Service in Cyprus. He was well known and highly regarded in the Cypriot community through his years of faithful and committed service at the Islington Cypriot Community Centre on Hercules Street. He had a lifelong love of nature and growing things, and took great joy from tending his allotment. It was his dream to return to Leonarisso one day, to the home that was denied him for 46 years. He was a dependable and committed husband and father, and a loving and caring papou. He was known for his compassion, hospitality, honesty and generosity. He was a unique character and will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind.
† ΑΓΓΕΛΙΑ ΘΑΝΑΤΟΥ Παύλος Χριστοφή
(από το Λεονάρισσο, Κύπρος) Με μεγάλη θλίψη αναγγέλλουμε το θάνατο του αγαπημένου μας Παύλου Χριστοφή, ο οποίος απεβίωσε το Σάββατο 6 Ιoυνίου 2020. Αφήνει την αγαπημένη του σύζυγο Κυριακού, παιδιά: Eλένη, Χρήστο, Κατερίνα και Δημήτρη, εγγόνια: Zωή, Θίσβη, Εύανδρος, Αριστοφάνη, Άρετιμης, Παύλο, αδελφή Αντρούλλα Λεκάτσα, ανιψούς και καρδιακούς φίλους Γιώργο Σάββα και Αντρέα Κουζάρη. Είναι αδύνατον να αναφέρουμε όλους τους συγγενείς και φίλους, αλλά είναι πάρα πολλοί στην εκτίμηση του και τους αγαπούσε. O εκλιπόν ζούσε στην περιοχή του Islington, από 11 χρόνια με μόνο διάλλημμα όταν πήγε στην Κύπρο για την στρατιωτική του θητεία. Ήταν πολύ γνωστός στην κυπριακή κοινότητα από τις υπηρεσίες που παρείχε στην παροικία μέσω του Κυπριακού Κoινοτικού Κέντρου Islington στο Hercules Street. Aγαπούσε την φύση και έπαιρνε μεγάλη ικανοποίηση από την παραγωγή διαφόρων φρούτων και λαχανικών στο Allotment. To όνειρό του ήταν να επιστρέψει και να καλλιεργήσει τα χωράφια του στο Λεονάρισσο, όπου του απαγορευόταν από το 1974. Ήταν ένας αξιόπιστος και αφοσιωμένος σύζυγος, ένας στοργικός πατέρας και ένας καλός παππούς, που φρόντιζε τα εγγόνια του με αγάπη. Ήταν γνωστός για την συμπόνια, τη φιλοξενία, τη σεμνότητα και τη γενναιοδωρία του. Θα μας λείψει πολύ.>
