Yes it is still winter; Christmas has been and gone and the New Year is underway. We all know how the years fly by as we mature and of course get wise with all. So knowing not to waste time with years is of certainty.
Living in the moment and learning to love life again after difficult events at any time is not always easy. Any troubled time is awkward and can be depressing on ones mood, sleep pattern and often health issues caused by it all. In winter months it can be worse as many stay housebound because of the cold. The elderly or those who are maybe not so fit and no longer drive, or do not have many relatives living locally, often will not see many people if they do not venture out. Let’s face it, how often do you see your neighbours in the winter in their garden or front yard hanging around chatting or doing the gardening. It is unlikely they will be out mowing the lawn or cutting the hedge that doesn’t grow much in the winter months. So when, or how likely are these housebound people going to see other people? Making time to take them out for groceries and some lunch or dinner may be the highlight of the week or even month for them, combining joy of some company as well as the weekly chore.
Even younger people seem to turn into house bunnies or couch potatoes in the winter. Not seeing friends so much and not sharing thoughts and feelings can lead to a low mood. So it is important to motivate, plan and put some events and goals into motion. It is great for keeping good spirit and enthusiasm for life itself.
Finding places or events to go to in the winter should be a way of positive planning for staying positive in mindful thought by lifting the mood and keeping the winter blues at bay. Arrange a variety of enjoyable trips and events that can get yourself, family and friends out. Once out and having fun, all that wrapping up for the cold to get out for that particular event, seems to be worth it after all.
Plan some events or go on an impromptu, but make sure you get out regularly with other like-minded people that you can converse with and enjoy some love and laughter with and create happy times and memories. Take some pictures or group selfies to remind you of these happy times. Get the pictures printed and post them around your home to remind you of them, and even more times ahead to look forward to.
Any tough times that life throws at us we work through. Life works in cycles – good, bad, rough, like winter, summer, spring. We learn, gather, and reap with reward of passing through the storms of life.
Keep your mood up, also with healthy eating and some regular exercise. There are many events where you can even do both of these together like different music and food events that can include these for all different ages. So whether you want bouzoukia, R&B clubbing nights out, Salsa nights, ballroom dancing, rollerblading/skating or bowling, just get out and have some fun.
Find your zest for life and live it now!
