A youth has been charged with a murder in Islington.
The 17-year-old male from Haringey was charged on Friday, 1 December, with the murder of 40-year-old Mohammed Hersi from Wood Green.
He appeared in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 2 December. He was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 5 December.
Mr Hersi died in hospital on 29 November, following an assault the previous day at the Bethel Café on Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury Park.
A post-mortem examination at St Pancras mortuary on 1 December gave provisional cause of death as penetrating head injury.
