As you are aware, Cyprus is facing serious challenges as the fires rage.Sadly, people have lost
their lives, property is destroyed and people have only God and Church to give them hope.
So we may assist our sisters and brothers in facing the multifaceted and critical situations, I am asking that a special tray be passed this Sunday, 27 July, the Feast of St. Panteleimon. Remember our responsibility as Christians. Simply ask yourselves, “what would Christ do?” it is not enough for us to just pray, talk about the problems or hesitate. Action is required now.
Those who do not wish to give through the Churches may donate directly to the Archdiocese, designating the gift “Cyprus Relief’.
May God give comfort to the families of those who lost their lives and may He give strength and courage to the firefighters and all the people of Cyprus.
With paternal love and hope in your generosity
Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain
