Tony Ourris of Anthony Webb Estate Agents in Palmers Green Town Centre, is proud to announce the launch of the Palmers Green Community Art Gallery. The gallery is located within the Anthony Webb Estate Agents office (348 Green Lanes, Palmers Green N13 5TJ) and is free for anyone to visit during the office opening times – Weekdays 9am-7pm, Saturdays 9.30am-5pm.
Anthony Webb have supported artists for a number of years through sponsorship of a local art group both through exhibitions within its office and through its community magazine, Palmers Green & Southgate LIFE.
The gallery is free for artists to exhibit their work – This will help up and coming artists to show their work without any upfront exhibition costs. From any sale proceeds, a donation of 10% is asked to be made to a charity of Tony’s choice. The charity will be changed every six months. The first charity for May-October will be North London Hospice. All exhibitors will have a half page spot in Palmers Green & Southgate LIFE magazine which is hand delivered to 11,000 local homes, via the Anthony Webb website blog and via many social media platforms.
The first artist is Kelly O’Gorman. Kelly first graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a Bachelor of Arts in 3D Modelling and Animation; she then continued her studies with a Masters Degree in Digital Practices in Design, graduating in 2004. However it was after graduation that a desire to escape the computer and return to hand drawn imagery led her to start on her journey as a visual artist.
Kelly’s elaborate doodles entice the viewer into another world, not always apparent at first glance. Her work is an insight to her thoughts and imagination; this coupled with her immaculate drawing skills is the reason we have chosen Kelly as our inaugural artist. To find out more about Kelly please visit her website www.kellyogorman.co.uk.
