APOEL will host Anorthosis Famagusta in the big game on Saturday with first place up for grabs and the chance to stay top of the standings heading into the second half of the football season. Both sides will head into Nicosia’s big game – which kicks off at 2.30pm – with notable absentees while AEK Larnaca, AEL Limassol and Apollon Limassol will all be hoping to trim the gap on one or both of the league leaders. “This is a crucial game for us and we go into the contest with some players missing”, noted APOEL boss Jovanovic who will be missing the injured Christos Karipidis, Mario Budimir, Esteban Solari while Aldo Adorno is not 100% match fit. Defender Aritz Borda will also be suspended. APOEL trail Ronny Levy’s Anorthosis by one point in the league standings. The other games on Saturday are Nea Salamina-Omonia and Ayia Napa-Apollon.
