Cypriot Employer threw caustic soda on domestic worker

A 40-year-old domestic worker from Nepal has reported to Peyia police that her employer, aged 59 burned her with sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) after she refused to follow through with attempts he made to sexually harass her.

Working for him since March 20, 2015, she told authorities that he would periodically harass her between March and June.

According to her complaint, on June 14 the man threw sodium hydroxide on her right leg and arm while she was sitting in the garden after she refused to give in to his demands.
