Get your lovin performed by Sophia Eleni
Greek Cypriot songwriter Constantinos Karaiskos
Hoping for third time lucky, songwriter Constantinos Karaiskos is not giving up on his dreams to win the Eurovision Song Contest! Following various song entries to countries around Europe in the last two years, this year’s hopes currently lie in Switzerland where the pre-selection rounds are currently in place.
After last year’s successful Song Project in Cyprus, it was looking promising that next year’s Cypriot entry would be chosen via the same format, instead it was announced last week that Minus One will be representing our island.
Earlier this year Constantinos had a plan to find and collaborate with a Cypriot singer who’d be able to fly the flag for Cyprus. Following numerous auditions it was singer/actress Sophia Eleni (aka The Daunting), who attracted his attention with her demo version of Get Your Lovin’ which is now amongst the favourites to make it through to the Swiss National Finals in February.
The song is a haunting dance ballad of love and loss that has already had many hits on YouTube and positive feedback!
