Britons wishing to escape the Christmas comedown and January gloom should look toCyprus and Lanzarote for the best-value New Year holidays, according to new research.
The Mediterranean and Canary Island destinations offer last-minute winter sun breaks for under £300 per person, thanks to low package prices and the pound’s strength against the Euro.
In a survey of 10 resort destinations, Post Office Travel Money found that a seven-night package to Paphos on Cyprus, including evening meals in resort restaurants and return flights, costs £239 per person, while a holiday to Costa Teguise in Lanzarote was second cheapest at £268 per person.
