This marks the largest-ever delegation sent by the Cyprus Olympic Committee in the history of the event.
During a press conference held today at the House of the Olympic Committee in Nicosia, the Committee officially presented the national delegation that will participate in the Games. The competition schedule begins on Monday, 21 July, and concludes on Saturday, 26 July.
Cyprus will compete in the following nine sports: Artistic Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Swimming, Badminton, Road Cycling, Mountain Biking, Shooting, Athletics, Taekwondo and Judo. Notably, the gymnastics competition will be hosted separately in Osijek, Croatia.
In his address during the press conference, the Secretary General of the Cyprus Olympic Committee, Yiotis Ioannides, emphasized that “the philosophy guiding the decisions and aspirations of the Cyprus Olympic Committee is that distinction is not an end in itself. Our aim is to provide our young athletes with opportunities for experience, growth and development. We are confident that this delegation will make us proud – not only through their performances, but also through their conduct and sportsmanship.”
