Enfield Captured: Winning photograph puts Enfield in the picture

A stunning image of Enfield at night has won first prize in a Council photography competition.

The Enfield Captured competition was launched in the autumn of 2015, and encouraged residents to submit images reflecting life in the borough.

The winning photograph, a nightscape of Enfield’s The Town, was taken by Paul Garnar, 35, and features Enfield’s landmark Victorian water fountain.

Deputy Leader of Enfield Council, Councillor Achilleas Georgiou said:

“The Enfield Captured Competition was an opportunity for residents to show us what life in the borough means to them.

“The winning image is beautifully shot, and really captures a sense of our vibrant community, with local businesses and instantly recognisable landmarks captured through Paul’s lense.”

“The photo competition was launched to promote Enfield Council’s new website which was launched in November and which provides easier online access to our services.

“We’re encouraging all Enfield residents to register for a new Enfield Connected account – which will help them to save time when contacting us.

“Account holders will be able to access all of our services in one place, making it much easier to report issues, pay bills and track the progress of applications.”

The winning photograph has been published on the new Enfield Council website. Paul was presented with his prize – a digital SLR camera – by Cllr Achilleas Georgiou at the Civic Centre this week.
