A group of experts from the European Union will pay a visit to Cyprus, in the framework of a project focusing on judicial reforms.
An announcement from the Press and Information Office says that the group, headed by Lord John Anthony Dyson, a former Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, will visit the island between 23 and 25 January.
“This is the first visit of the group and it will be an exploratory one” the press release notes.
“The project is regarded as one of the most important in the context of a broader ambitious drive to reform the Courts”, it adds.
The group will meet with the President and the Members of the Supreme Court, the Reform Committee, the Cyprus Judges Association, District Courts judges, the Chief Registrar and the Assistant Chief Registrar, the Chairman of the Cyprus Bar Association and Chairmen of local Bar Associations, lawyers, academics and others.
