First Division

New Salamis 4 Olympia 0

New Salamis have established the pole position in the first division already after a comfortable win over Olympia who under their manager Steve Cinotti have not been their usual selves and are not pulling in good results at the moment. The New Salamis manager George Georgiou is happy his team have not concede a goal in their last three games and freely scoring at the other end. He also thanked the committee and their players for their full focus so far and the commitment to the coaching staff Mario and his assistant Andrew Kouroushi for being so influential to their progress.

New Salamis goals came from Andre 2, Deniz Mehmet and Charlie Georgiou.

Pantel 3 Livadia 0

A good win for Pantel over Livadia, Pantel have now gone two wins on the trot with their manager Tony Ponnou whose work in progress is on its way up. For Livadia their have gone two defeats on the trot and really must pick themselves up and get out of this rut.

Pantel’s scorers were Maldini, Jayden and George Costa.

Apoel v Anorthosis game not played.

Second Division

Komi Kebir 3 Brotherhood 1

Komi had to reshuffle their side due to a number of injures, mostly in defence.
Brotherhood started the strongest and put the Komi defence under a lot for pressure but Nick.T and Joe in the centre played very well.
Komi took the lead on 30 mins from a corner when Kyri Christofi headed in at the back post. Komi then made it 2-0 on 35 mins when Dillon chased down a long ball, beat the defender and keeper to the ball and swung the ball into the net from a tight angle.
The game was back on just before halftime when a free kick to that back post was nodded in to make it 2-1 the goal scored by Kaan Yucel.
The 2nd half was similar to the 1st back Brotherhood could not breakdown a strong defence with Nick.T the man of the match.
Komi secured the 3 points with the last kick of the game to make the final score 3-1.

Panathinaikos 0 Asha 1

Great win for Asha Fc that took them to the top of the second division for the first time ever.
Asha FC faced the newcomers to the Kopa league, Panathinaikos and with both teams playing entertaining football both found it hard to break each other down. At half time with the score 0-0, Chris the Asha coach praised the boys for not giving silly goals away as they normally did in the past and stressed their physical condition would probably prove to be the winner.
Ten minutes into the second half Kaylan broke away from the right, cut in on a PAO defender and hit a beauty against the crossbar and before the PAO goalkeeper knew anything about it hit him on his back and went in to the net. Asha ahead and consequently put Asha Fc at the top of our division for the first time ever.

Achna 5 KLN

A very good win for Achna over the second division league leaders KLN 5-0. Achna are now in full flow and are more consistent and full of confidence and KLN are struggling to find their early season form.

Achna’s goals came from Theoklis Charalambous, Tasos Anastasi, Ashley Campbell 2 and Alex Chrysanthou.
