As part of the fundraising Youth programme KOPA with KOA’s assistance organised a KOPA veterans’ tournament last Sunday at Haringey Borough Stadium in White Hart Lane, Wood Green. Which Haringey Borough FC kindly donated the Stadium for the whole day.
It was a good chance to see all the old faces from the KOPA League and believe me they still got that old touch.
You had Andy Savva ploughing his defensive skills with Tony Basher Andreou , Mario Koureas deadly up front and George Satanas and George Costa creative in midfield. Also i did not realise Kokos Georgiou could sprint. Nick Demetriades registered a good game. You could hear the spectator asking is that Andy Gordon ex Omonia player, Mark Christodoulou and of course the chairman of Haringey Borough Akis Achilleous who played for Olympia.
The players included Andy Savva, Tom Loizou, George Satanas, Andy Gordon, Mark Christodoulou, Pany Panayiotou, George Costa, Nick Demetriades, Tony Basher Andreou, Jack Koumi, Angelo, Jack Timenoy, Jimmy Demetriou, Kokos Georgiou, Mario Koureas and Angelo Diakou and most of these players also represented the KOPA League team.
After the game there was a buffet function which members of the Youth team Parents and players members of KOPA guests and supporters attended.
