An arrest has been made following an appeal to identify a man following an allegation of rape.
Detectives from the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command were appealing for the public’s help to identify a man in connection with an allegation of rape in Finchley.
The incident is alleged to have taken place shortly after midnight on Friday, 10 June in Long Lane near the junction with Vines Avenue, N3, where a woman – aged in her 20s – was dragged from the street by an unknown man into a residential garden and attacked.
On Sunday, 3 July, a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape.
The man was identified as a direct result of the appeals. We would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance with this appeal.
