Cyprus’ Department of Meteorology issued a fresh yellow warning for Thursday. The warning is issued for extreme maximum temperature and it comes into force between 13.00 and 17.00 (local time) on Thursday.
The inland maximum temperature is expected to rise to around 41 degrees Celsius.
The Department of Forests issued a red alert for fires on Thursday.
In an announcement the Department says that according to the law, causing a fire constitutes an offense that carries severe penalties.
The Department instructs th public to be particularly careful during their outings, avoiding any activities that may cause a fire.
