A jeweller from Larnaca was found murdered near Aphrodite’s Rock on Wednesday afternoon, with gun shots to the head. Police named the victim as Michalakis Demetriou Diogenous, 67. He was found near his car on a country road north of the scenic tourist spot of Aphrodite’s Rock, legenadary birthplace of the Goddess of Love.
Police spokesman Andreas Angelides told the Cyprus News Agency that the murder was committed around 4.00 pm in the afternoon. The victim had been shot in the head, he said.. Police closed off the area and were searching the scene for evidence. Relatives of the victim had been called to Paphos police to help establish a possible motive for the crime.
