Passenger has head slammed against ticket machine at North London station

A passenger was attacked while using a ticket machine at the entrance hall of Highbury and Islington station. A man was seen forcing the victim’s head onto the machine at the London Overground and Victoria linestation on Friday, 6 November at 9.50pm. The attack was unprovoked and officers have identified a man seen on CCTV they would like to speak to.

Officers believe the man seen on station cameras has crucial information in relation to the assault. If you know who he is, call us on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting ESUB/B2 of 7/1/16.

Unprovoked attack

“Fortunately the man who suffered the attack sustained only minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment. Nevertheless, this was a nasty and unprovoked attack on a passenger and his injuries could have been far worse”, said Detective Constable David Bishop.

He continued: “Everyone has the right to travel in comfort and without fear of cowardly attacks such as this, and I’d call upon anyone who can name the man seen on our CCTV still to get in touch as soon as possible.”
