Teachers of the island’s secondary education system are reportedly heading for early retirement in large numbers as the threat of a Troika-imposed reduction to pensions and benefits looms large.
Speaking to the CyBC earlier today, the island’s secondary education chief said that 200 high-ranking teachers had already opted for early retirement, with many more applying to do so as well.
The teachers exodus is said to have created gaps in the island’s education system, with the Ministry of Education reportedly struggling to replace them.
