Yes it is that time when the heat is on and the winter layers are off, but are you ready to reveal that body?! What have you been doing in the winter? Hopefully you have not just been sitting in, snuggled up on the sofa watching the television and not doing much of an exercise regime. If so, you need to get your act together and get physically active. Now is the time, it is warm and there are lots of activities that you can do and enjoy outside as well as indoors.
In the summer, there are many activities that are held out in the open from yoga to different types of fitness classes. See what is local and join in. Find what suits you, something that you enjoy doing will be far better than doing something just because you think it will be good for you, as in the end it will seem to be such a chore that you may find or make excuses not to go. So don’t attach yourself to a dance class if you don’t enjoy doing it. Do something you have a passion for. Do you enjoy running, martial arts, outdoor circuit, cross training fitness, cycling, water rafting, horse riding, swimming, dancing? There are so many to choose from and available for us to explore, see what’s happening in your local and surrounding areas. You may find there are a few local festivals where you can try out new activities or dance along to their musical line up of talent. It is a great way of socialising and meeting likeminded people.
Working as a Personal Trainer, I recommend changing your activities and also exercise programs so that the body does not know what exercise it is following and is surprised in exercising muscles in different ways. This is often done in the gym, in a similar way by slightly changing body position angles, when using the gym equipment. This is a great way of achieving maximum results in minimum time.
One doesn’t need to live in the gym or workout every day to get results. Training 2-3 times a week by doing what you enjoy should be more than enough to wizz you in shape. It is the quality of your training that makes the difference, not the quantity. Some people may train 5-6 times a week but with little knowledge of the biology and science of the physique and its requirements alongside with nutrition. Little result will be seen to the shape and tone of the body. With good guided technique, one should see a difference within a short time, in fact even in a month, a noticeable difference will be seen, and then 3-6 months later, a substantial physical effect will be highly visible.
When noticeable changes occur also within the mind, it creates a motivational drive within to crave more of this physical change, as well as the endorphin raising rush that happens, putting us in an ecstatic state of mind and feeling good.
So what have you got to lose, find yourself sporting activities that make you happy and also work for your body type. Not sure how or what to do. Use local community learning centres and gyms where classes are held with qualified instructors in different activities that are available at these establishments. Some instructors can even train you personally and often even outside the gyms or sports centres. They can often train you in the comfort of your own home at your convenience to suit your specific needs. An experienced coach can also guide you on your appropriate eating plan to create your desired goal.
So for mind and wellbeing, get out, make changes, surprise yourself and discover you!
