US Secretary of State John Kerry will visit Cyprus and Greece on December 3 and 4 respectively, the State Department has announced.

Kerry will depart from Washington on November 30, heading for Paris, where he will join US President Barack Obama for the opening of COP-21 in Paris.

Before Nicosia, Kerry will attend NATO meetings in Brussels and will have contacts in Pristina, before heading for Belgrade to take part in the OSCE Ministerial Council.

On December 3, the Secretary of State will travel to Nicosia, where he will meet with senior Cypriot officials to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues.

He will also meet with Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders to encourage continued progress in the UN-facilitated settlement talks.

Kerry will then travel to Athens on December 4 to discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues with the Greek government, including the migration and refugee crisis and progress on economic reforms.
