Away with the fairies

After a recent conversation, it triggered some thoughts on peoples’ perception of others, just because it doesn’t seem to fit within their own ideal pattern of thought. The conversation revealed how one person perceived another, because they are an individual, unique character who wanted to share guidance online with their spiritual thoughts and meditation practice.
Being different from one another is what makes us who we are, with a unique individual personality. Yet some are quick to judge others for this because they do not conform. Is it fair to judge another for what they believe in, where they go, what they choose to do, what line of work or hobbies or pastime they have, what they wear, what music they listen to, what they eat, how they live, how they find inner peace? All these things are individual and personal choices, and so long as these choices are not interfering and causing harm to another, then surely it is ok.
So why do some people think they have a right to cast judgment upon another if they are different, and often classified as ‘they are away with the fairies.’ Being a ‘unique you’ does not mean you have lost the plot, it simply means you can think for yourself. There are people that do things we don’t necessarily like or approve of, and we may not choose to do ourselves, but that’s ok and if it works for them, then so be it. Let another do what they want if it makes them happy. If it causes pain and harm to you personally, then you have the right to withdraw from their company, but please don’t judge another because it doesn’t work with your way of thinking or approval.
I love to be different and I like to create my own way in all I do. I may be inspired by others creativity or by other peoples’ ideas and way of thinking. I utilise the inspiration source and make use of it. We can all learn from one another to improve and excel in all we do. It’s easy to judge a pilot to avoid some turbulence, but if you have never flown a plane, how would you know if you could have avoided that turbulence. Make room for others and their own ways with acceptance. Accept others for who they are and what they do for their own wellbeing.
Be proud of being ‘away with the fairies’ and be who you want to be – ‘just be’ whatever it takes for you to be at peace with yourself. The essence is to experience and have true inner peace. Do whatever works for you. Whether you choose to be alone or with a crowd, do yoga or meditation, sing and dance, paint your room white with green circles or blue stripes, listen to jazz or classical, Greek or Spanish, whales or babbling brooks, eat porridge or yoghurt for breakfast – it is all ok, so long as it works for you, there is no need to worry what others think and say about you and your choices, because they are not you and have not walked in your path. You are an authentic ‘you’.
