The proposal of Cyprus to create a platform for the joint supply of medicines for EU countries with small markets was discussed between Cyprus Health Minister Michael Damianos and Minister of Health of Malta, Jo Etienne Abela, in the presence of delegations from the two countries.
Damianos described the meeting as very constructive, adding that they discussed the various challenges small EU states are faced with.
He said that, among other things, they discussed the challenges regarding the availability of medicines in Malta, but mainly the proposal for voluntary cooperation of the EU member states for the joint supply of medicines.
The Minister also said that the discussions will continue for the benefit of the citizen
