Wednesday’s Akamas fires were probably started maliciously, experts believe.

Combing the area for clues.
He added: “It is clear the first fire broke out in the area of Neo Chorio to Akamas and burned less than two square kilometers of land, less than originally estimated and the second fire in Lara area burned 26 and not 50 hectares of land as originally estimated,” he said.
The two fires burned acres of wild vegetation and state and private plantations.
“Items found at the point where the fires started suggest that they were malicious,” noted the spokesman.
