The 4* Palm Beach Hotel & Bungalows (www.palmbeachhotel.com) in Larnaca, Cyprus has just been awarded Trip Advisor’s ‘Certificate of Excellence’ for 2015 that honours fantastic hospitality and service. The accolade is only given to hotels that have consistently achieved outstanding traveller reviews on Trip Advisor and only about 10% of properties on the whole site receive the awards.
This is the fifth year running the hotel has been given this award, which entitles them to a special Hall of Fame certificate as well. The Palm Beach Hotel & Bungalows is one of the most popular hotels for Brits travelling to the Larnaca region because of its excellent five star facilities and services, and great location on the coast, just outside of town.
For those visiting the region soon, the Kataklysmos Water Festival is on Monday 1st June which is a bank holiday in Cyprus and is one of the most popular folklore festivals. All major seaside towns including Larnaca have their own festival or fair taking place at this time. This year’s Kataklysmos will be extra special for Larnaca as the town marks 100 years of celebrating the festival.
The festival traditional goes back to ancient times; however Larnaca only actively began hosting festivities in 1915. These include stalls lining the Phinikoudes stretch and other festival-like activities including concerts, fireworks, Cypriot folk dance and music and puppet shows. Last year’s event attracted around 400,000 local and overseas visitors to see 5,000 performers of ages. This year events will be held between 29th May and 3rd June.
Larnaca and its district play host to fabulous festivals and great events throughout the year including June’s Zenobia Week (23-30 June), a great opportunity to make the most of one of the world’s top ten dive wrecks, the Zenobia plus the summer festivals (July and August) for music, concerts and outdoor theatre, as well as the Harvest festival end of October to November, for information visit www.larnakaregion.com
